Mr. Jean-Guy Villeneuve has been called to the bar in 1968. He started his legal practice in 1969 after completing a Master of Laws at the University of Toronto. His experience in labor law and professional law is comprehensive and diversified. Among other things he has a vast experience in negotiations and writing of collective agreements, labor agreements, service or enterprises agreements, as well as in consultations and representations before specialized jurisdictions and ordinary courts of law. Jean-Guy took part in the preparation of the disposition for professional acts as well as in the creation of the Professional Code in 1972-73 while working with Mr. Claude Castonguay, Minister of Social Affairs under Mr. Robert Bourassa’s administration.

Mr. Villeneuve represents private corporations as well as public institutions such as school boards, hospitals, municipalities, public corporations, professional corporations and organizations.

Representative mandates

Arbitration and Negotiation
As acted as negotiator and spokesman for the government as well as for the Fédération des commissions scolaires and the Fédération des CÉGEPS, on five occasions, during negotiations in the public and parapublic sectors (education, public safety), from 1975 until 1990.

Negotiations of Collective Agreements
Acts as negotiator for collective agreeements in the private sector for several companies, corporations and institutions.

Pension Plan
Acts as legal counsel with respect to pension plans either for the plan, employers, professional corporations or executives association.
