Description

Yves Charbonneau has been practicing in corporate and commercial law for over thirty years. He has acted as lead counsel in many complex transactions, including sales and acquisition of businesses, cross-border financings and the negotiation of local and international distribution and licensing agreements. As lead counsel for American and Canadian banking syndicates, Yves has been instrumental in structuring various financings.

He has also acted for Quebec-based industries in setting up international licensing and distribution networks in America, Europe and Asia. He also represents issuers and venture capital firms in private-placements transactions.

Yves also currently serves as a director and officer of various companies.

Lawyer in the sale transaction of Innovatech Chaudière-Appalaches to Desjardins Capital de risque Inc.

Merger of two major Quebec agri-food businesses
Lead counsel for Groupe Brochu in the consolidation of its slaughterhouse operations with Olymel, LP, a transaction involving more than 15 plants and more than $3 billion in sales.

Transborder bank financing
Lead counsel for a Canadian and US Banking syndicate in a $150 million North American and European financing of a manufacturing company.

Acquisition of a Canadian financial product distribution network
Lead counsel for Desjardins Financial Security in the acquisition of the Canadian distribution network of Standard Life’s financial products.

Business acquisition
Counsel for a technology-based business in the acquisition of a Danish corporation and German corporation.

Counsel for another technology-based business in the acquisition of an American company.
